Consider Joining the Illinois Soil Testing Association
Who Can Belong to ISTA?
The following individuals may apply for membership in ISTA:
- OWNER/OPERATOR - Any individual testing soils in Illinois or providing soil
testing services in Illinois, whether or not the laboratory is located in Illinois, may
be granted an active membership for one year by paying the annual membership
dues.
- LABORATORY SUPERVISOR/TECHNICIAN - Any individual qualified by
educational degree or experience and actively engaged in laboratory testing of
soils may be granted an active membership by paying the annual membership
dues.
- AGRONOMIST/CONSULTANT - Any individual qualified by educational degree or
experience to advise farmers and agriculturally related industry personnel in the
areas of agronomic practices, and who is actively engaged in the business of
such advising, and who uses an association-approved soil testing laboratory,
may be granted an active membership for one year by paying the annual
membership.
- EDUCATIONAL MEMBERSHIPS - A membership conferred on members of the
educational and advisory committee and other persons in the educational
community who wish to be involved. (Does not require dues and does not have
voting rights)
- AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP - A membership shall be granted to persons who have
expressed an interest in the Illinois Soil Testing Association. (No voting rights)
- HONORARY MEMBERSHIP - Granted to a deserving individual who has
supported the association by past actions. (Does not have voting rights, but is
granted lifetime membership; no dues required)
How Do I Join?
Contact ISTA at info@soiltesting.org, call them at (618) 281-6648 or simply download an
application by clicking here. Complete the application, include the appropriate annual
dues payment and send both items to:

Member labs interested in taking part in ISTA's Proficiency Testing Program also must
complete this form and submit an additional $150 check to cover the costs of the
program.
